Rock Town Grill in West Little Rock has been sold and will become Erba, focusing on upscale American cuisine, according to chef Matt Clark. Brad McCray and Steven Velek recently bought Rock Town Grill, which was started by the group that created Downtown Deli. Erba will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, with later hours for the full bar and a bar menu on Friday and Saturday. Clark was a line cook at Brave New Restaurant for the past three years. Before that he spent two years as the executive chef at Drawings, which was the restaurant in the Arkansas Arts Center before Best Impressions. His resume includes stints at the Excelsior Hotel under then executive chef Michael Selig (owner of the Vermillion restaurants), La Scala and Pleasant Valley Country Club. “I’ve worked a lot of different places for two years or so at a time, and I loved the job at Brave; that was the longest I spent at one place. I was just ready to do my own thing again,” Clark said. McCray also owns Strictly Catering — Clark worked with him on upscale holiday parties in late 2004 — and will continue to operate that business out of Erba. The phone number is 801-7625. The address is 12315 Chenal Parkway, Suite B, in the Chenal Place shopping center. Caracalla, the upscale spa in the Heights, has applied for a beer and wine permit. The spa has expanded into space that once was home to Spaule.
