The North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce's 15th annual “Taste of the Town” will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Alltel Arena. Ostensibly a restaurant business-networking event, “Taste” is also open to the public. Admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the door, and grants free reign on food and drink booths from the likes of Cotham's, Hooters, Valentine's and all of the areas' big booze distributors. A new season of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute's “Second Saturday Chef's Series” kicks off on Oct. 11 with “From Hors D'oeuvres to Au Revoir.” John Leonardis and Adam Rosenblum, former chef at Imagine A Restaurant, will lead the first class. The chefs recently founded the Gourmand Guru Group, or G3, a catering, consulting and teaching business. (More info and their catering menu can be found at g3food.com.)  The class begins at 9 a.m. and ends around 4 p.m. at the Institute, on Petit Jean Mountain. Tickets, which include lunch, cost $69; advance registration, via uawri.org, is required.
