A new restaurant, River Rock Grill, has opened at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain near Morrilton. Named for an adjacent 310-foot water feature meant to represent how the Arkansas and Petit Jean Rivers flow around Petit Jean Mountain, the grill is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The menu includes appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees, a dessert of the day and blended coffee drinks. The grill will expand its menu in May 2008.

With one location already on Chenal Parkway, Java Roasting Cafe has opened a second location in Little Rock in the Breckenridge Village shopping complex. The cafe features a menu of breakfast items, paninis, soups, wraps, salads, various baked goods, and, of course, assorted coffees and teas. The restaurant, which opened a week ago, includes indoor and outdoor seating.

Boscos Brewing Company won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival, held two weeks ago in Denver. The brewery won the prize for its German-style Wheat Ale, Boscos Hefeweizen.
