While Jody Hardin pushes towards a late July or early Augusta opening date for his local and organic foods-focused Argenta Market, he's working to establish a Farm-to-Chef Network to open dialogue between local farmers and local chefs. Hardin says he's already gotten a strong response from farmers and chefs alike. On July 4, in downtown North Little Rock, the Argenta Foodie Fest will celebrate the network, with local chefs creating dishes using only locally grown produce and meats. There'll be entertainment and arts and crafts displays, too.
Mike Selig, former chef/owner of Mike Selig's Vermillion, has joined the Clinton Presidential Center's on-site restaurant Forty Two as director of food and beverage. The restaurant, open Monday through Saturday for lunch and Sunday for brunch, also recently unveiled a new menu, which includes items like black bean soup, patty melts and Cuban sandwiches.
