Washington Regional Receives Clinical Insight Award

(Fayetteville, AR) Washington Regional Medical Center (WRMC) was recently honored for excellence in quality and performance improvement at the national 2006 Solucient Insight Conference held on May 10 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona.

WRMC took home the Clinical Insight Award for improving patient care and outcomes, becoming more efficient, and improving outreach to the community. Solucient recognized 18 hospitals across the country for excellence in performance improvement and quality.
“Our top priority at Washington Regional is to provide high quality healthcare. It’s an honor to be recognized by the nation’s leading provider of quality measurement systems within the healthcare industry. It’s a tribute to all our employees, but in particular, our physicians and nurses,” said Dr. David Ratcliff, WRMC Chief of Medical Affairs.
WRMC utilizes Solucient information to assemble clinical/financial analyses and performance improvement plans. Based on this, a Physician Advisory Committee and three physician task forces (Cardiovascular/Cardiology, Surgery and Medicine) work together to identify key areas of opportunity, to set goals, and to focus on achieving improvements by implementing changes in either physician practices and/or hospital operations.
“Awards such as this can only be achieved when superior teamwork is present and proactive,” noted Ratcliff. “Daily, throughout our medical center, data is used to evaluate all aspects of patient care as well as operations to provide the best healthcare services possible for our community. I have always been proud to be a part of the WRMC team, and receiving this award speaks to the essence of quality that we strive, as a team, to achieve in patient care and services.”
