The internationally acclaimed violinist Alexander Markov, whose reputation is said to be second to none in the 19th century virtuoso repertoire, will perform for the Chamber Music Society of Little Rock on Thursday, Nov. 4.
The 7:30 p.m. show is at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 1000 N. Mississippi Ave. Admission is $15.
The Moscow-born Markov, son of concert violinist Albert Markov, won the gold medal at the Paganini International Violin Competition and has appeared with such groups as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Ochestre de Paris and the BBC Symphony. Awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 1987, he made his New York debut recital at Carnegie Hall.
His most recent CD covers the Tchaikovsky pieces for violin and piano.
