St. Joseph’s hosts Mercy Diabetes & Wound Center Health Fair

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center will host the Mercy Diabetes & Wound Center Health Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 8 in the Mercy/McAuley Rooms.

The public event, which will feature two speakers and an array of diabetes products and savory treats provided by the staff of the Mercy Diabetes & Wound Center and various exhibitors, will run from noon to 4 p.m.

Susan Burke, MS, RD, LD/N, CDE, Chief Nutritionist for, will speak from noon to 12:45 p.m. on “Glycemic Index: The Rest of the Story,” followed by Chet Cox, A1c Champion, and his 1 to 1:50 p.m. talk on “Taking Control.” Following Cox’s talk, savory treats will be provided and vendor booths opened for the public in attendance.

The event’s exhibiting vendor sponsors include: LifeScan, CCS Medical, ArTex Medical, Sanofi Aventis, Bayer HealthCare, O’Brian Healthcare, Molnlycke Health Care, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Health Point Tissue Management, Tyco Healthcare, Abbott Diabetes Care, Kendall, Byram Healthcare and free computerized foot pressure mapping with I-Step by O’Brian.
