Another year has rolled by for Nightflying publisher Peter Read and his subjects, but it’s hardly just any year: It’s Nightflying’s 25th anniversary as the statewide bible of music, and for Read his annual anniversary parties in Northwest and Central Arkansas will be extra special.

The first party is scheduled for Fayetteville and George’s Majestic on Tuesday, Dec. 13. The Nightflying crew and their list of bands shifts to Juanita’s in Little Rock on Thursday, Dec. 15. Both shows will include performances from “the cast of thousands,” i.e., local and regional artists who support the free publication.

The Fayetteville party starts at 9 p.m. Dec. 13, and has a bluesy look with the Cate Brothers, Cherry Brooks and Oreo Blue scheduled as headliners.

At Juanita’s beginning at 9 p.m. on Dec. 15, the main acts include Trout Fishing in America (who we’re expecting will be doing their way-fun signature adult-themed bar songs) and the famed St. Louis Grateful Dead tribute band the Schwag. The party then moves a little down Main Street to private club Midtown Billiards to continue into the wee hours. For more information, call 501-354-8577.
