Ovarian Cancer Survivors Gather for Support At UAMS Retreat

Little Rock, AR--There will be a one-day retreat offering education and support for women with ovarian and other gynecological cancers and their support persons The event is sponsored by the Just Among Women support group at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ (UAMS) Arkansas Cancer Research Center. This retreat will be Saturday, Sept. 30, 10th floor, Arkansas Cancer Research Center.


9 a.m. keynote address - “Novel Therapies for Advanced Ovarian Cancer” by Alessandro Santin, M.D., associate professor in the UAMS Division of Gynecologic Oncology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Noon lunch- “Labyrinth: Tool for Health and Meditation” by Rev. Harriett Akins-Banman, Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. 

Tai Chi classes from 10:30-11:40 a.m. and 1:15-3:40 p.m. on the 10th floor of the ACRC

A labyrinth will be set up for participants from 1:15-3:40 p.m. on the second floor of the Jones Eye Institute adjacent to the ACRC.

Parking is available in the Outpatient Center parking deck at West Capitol and Cedar Street.
