Yes, if you must know, Kid Rock employs local “dancers” at every stop on his show. The Detroit native’s shows are rowdy, his language is colorful, and he rocks very hard with his blend of semi-Southern rock and rap. His fans know him as the “American Bad Ass,” the “Devil Without a Cause” and even the “Early Mornin’ Stoned Pimp.”

R. Kelly’s reputation as a “playa” precedes him. But, he’s also one of the top R&B singers around today.

And the Grammy Award-winning shock group Nine Inch Nails, led by the controversial Trent Reznor, is helping keep the heavy, industrial and progressive rocking scene alive with its melody-based and lyrically strong songs.

See them all in a five-day span at Alltel Arena, starting with Kid Rock and the Twister Brown Trucker band on Friday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. R. Kelly’s show on his “The Light Up Tour” is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18, and Nine Inch Nails brings it on Tuesday, March 21, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for Kid Rock are $35 and $25, and for R. Kelly all seats are $36.75. Tickets for Nine Inch Nails are $38, and the show also includes spoken word master Saul Williams.

Tickets for all shows are available through all Ticketmaster outlets -– most Harvest Foods stores and the Celebrity Attractions office at Third and Spring streets, charge-by-phone at 975-7575 and online at www.ticketmaster.com –- and the arena box office (975-9000).

Rock is releasing a new live CD, “Live Trucker,” this week. Chicago native Kelly, who broke through in 1992 after starting out singing in subway stations, is known for such hits as “I Believe I Can Fly,” and his 10th and newest CD is the big-selling “TP.3 Reloaded,” which debuted No. 1 on the Billboard charts.

Reznor and his band won a Grammy for the heavy metal single “Wish” from the album “Broken.” The single “Closer” was known for its video and lyrical shock value on MTV. Reznor reemerged after some down time with 2005’s “With Teeth.”
