Music scene now streaming Here’s an invitation to join me every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on wairadio.com’s newest streamed show, the Arkansas Times Entertainment 120. Our first show featured interviews with the Boondogs (they have a great new album, “Fever Dreams”) and Lookback Marys’ Sean Rock (he’s in the process of releasing a new album). We’ve played music by local groups, some we wish were still together, such as Mulehead, and some by acts we hope you’ll discover soon at local clubs if you haven’t seen them already, such as Wildwood. In coming weeks, you’ll be hearing from musicians Sara Thomas, Isaac Alexander, Amy Garland, Kevin Kerby and Burt Taggart (the man behind local record company Max Recordings) and local club and band promoters Chris King at Sticky Fingerz, Eric Hurley at Juanita’s, Fletcher Clement at Vino’s and Tim Jones of Porter Jones Entertainment. This is also an open invitation to anyone out there who hasn’t already run a CD past my desk or told where they’re playing to give me a call (375-2985) and let me get you more exposure via Internet streaming. Owner Steve Freeman says wairadio.com is averaging more than 35,000 hits a day. Arkansas Times Entertainment 120 airs live on Wednesdays and is replayed Thursdays and Fridays, usually from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Give a listen to the earlier Entertainment 120 shows and let me know what you think. Congratulations are in order to Parachute Woman (four guys who got their band name from a Rolling Stones song), who were by far the best in the room at Cornerstone Deli and Pub on Saturday for the “Battle of the Ad Bands.” The four talented musicians understand blues and blues rock and also put on an entertaining stage show. The band is often booked at the White Water Tavern. Check it out. Isaac Alexander of Big Silver and the Easys and Jason Weinheimer of the Easys and Boondogs (there is a lot of overlap among the better Little Rock bands) also joined up for a great “garage band” portion of the showcase.
