Sisters of Mercy Health System names St. Joseph’s Dodd Regional Director
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Marlena Dodd, a 17-year St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center co-worker who has spent the last four years with Education Services, was recently named Regional Director for Leadership Development of the Sisters of Mercy Health System’s (Mercy) Arkansas Center for Training Excellence Team.
In her new role, Dodd will both co-manage St. Joseph’s Education Services Department and lead the Arkansas Center for Training Excellence Team in its key role of helping consolidate education and training throughout all of Mercy’s strategic service units (SSUs). Dodd, who will assume her new duties on July 1, will be one of five Regional Directors responsible for spearheading the System-wide effort.
“It’s a totally new approach for the System that we believe will both streamline and unify,” said Dodd, who along with her husband, John, has two daughters – 25-year-old Samantha and 15-year-old Kimberly. “We will take each of the SSU’s best practices from orientations and Mercy Leadership Institute (MLI) trainings and bring them all together.
“I am honored to be one of the Regional Directors. I have worked in a lot of different areas during my time at St. Joseph’s and have been given a lot of opportunities. I am excited and hopeful about this newest opportunity, and I also feel blessed. I owe it all to Mercy and a great team of co-workers in the St. Joseph’s Education Services Department.”
