Madame Faberge’ event benefits St. Joseph’s Mercy Lodge

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Guests recently celebrated an evening with Madame Faberge’, the Faberge’ family’s sole heir and great granddaughter of legendary Russian jewelry craftsman Peter Carl Faberge’.

St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center’s Mercy Lodge was the beneficiary of the black-tie event, which was hosted by Davis Tillman at Tillman’s Antiques and featured a champagne and caviar reception with an exclusive viewing of a select group of the exquisite Faberge` eggs reproduced from the original work of Peter Carl Faberge’.

The guests, which included Faberge’ President Christiane Michaels, were also treated to a private-seated dinner, entertainment and an evening-ending toast to Madame Faberge` with a rare bottle of 1915 Czar Nicholas Port. The port wine was from the cellar of Czar Nicholas II and was one of only four known bottles. Each of the guests also received a lead crystal Faberge` egg signed by Madame Faberge’.

The Mercy Lodge plays a vital role for St. Joseph’s, providing out-of-town patients and their families with comfortable, home-like accommodations while they are receiving daily and extended treatments. Presently, the Mercy Lodge service is comprised of six bedrooms in two different homes. The rooms, however, stay occupied 100 percent of the time and the number of qualifying patients – mostly from the Mercy Cancer Center, Mercy Heart & Vascular Center, Mercy Diabetes & Wound Center and Obstetrics Department – continues to grow.

As a result, St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Foundation has committed to raise the funds necessary to construct a new Mercy Lodge with 10 private bedrooms, 10 private bathrooms and communal kitchen, living and courtyard areas. A member of the Sisters of Mercy Health System, St. Joseph’s is a not-for-profit Catholic hospital and recipient of both the overall Diamond Award and large-company Gold Award at the 2006 Governor’s Family Friendly Employer Awards ceremony.
