Garrison Keillor’s last visit to Hot Springs, in 2004, resulted in a sold-out show at Summit Arena, and he’s returning to the Spa City on Tuesday, June 28, for a 7:30 p.m. appearance. Tickets for “A Prairie Home Companion –- The Rhubarb Tour With Garrison Keillor” range from $25 to $45 through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com or 501-321-1919). “The Rhubarb Tour” is essentially the same show as the “Prairie Home Companion” shows on NPR except it isn’t broadcast live and doesn’t have performers Tim Russell and Sue Scott. What it does feature, along with legendary storyteller Keillor, are the Guys All Star Show band, a guest musician and sound effects guru Fred Newman. Also, unlike the live show, Keillor doesn’t have to stop his show at two hours, the audience experiences more material and there’s more interaction between the host and the performers.
The show is sponsored by the city’s Convention and Visitors Bureau.
