THURSDAY 9/11

Texas alt-country act Cross Canadian Ragweed plays these parts just about every month, it seems. Still, the crowds continue to flock, and we'd expect nothing short of a sell-out at Revolution, 8 p.m., $20 adv., $25 d.o.s. Oklahoma singer/songwriter Mike McClure opens. Texas troubadour Matt Keating plays White Water with Son Volt guitarist Chris Masterson, 9 p.m., $5. Blue-eyed soul man Big John Miller belts out the hits at Cajun's, 9 p.m., $5. As part of the Hot Springs Motorcycle Rally, Southern rock heroes from a bygone era Molly Hatchett and Blackfoot headline at Summit Arena in Hot Springs, 8 p.m., $45 (the rally registration fee gets the public in to all of the weekend's concerts). From Pennsylvania, up-and-coming alt-rockers Rise Phoenix Rise perform the first half of a two-night stand at West End, 9 p.m., $5. Early in the evening, Ted Ludwig and Joe Cripps play for free at the Capital Bar and Grill. Later, the duo becomes a trio at the Afterthought, 8 p.m., $5.

FRIDAY 9/12

Power ballads and nerd anthems rain down on motorcyclists and anyone else willing to pony up $45 (for the weekend) at the Summit Arena as Styx headlines, 7:30 p.m. At White Water, ultra-popular (at least among the folks who regularly go to White Water) rockers Glossary headline with twangy indie-rock band Ghostfinger, 10 p.m., $5. Arguably Central Arkansas's favorite party band, the Gettys headline at Revolution, 8 p.m., $5. Louisiana blues man Big Daddy O comes to Studio Joe, 7 p.m., $10. Local cover act the Intruders headlines at Cajun's Wharf, 9 p.m., $5. Local DJ collective Cybertribe hosts “Nothing But Love” at the Village, with DJ Jeremy Word headlining, 9 p.m., $12 adv., $15 d.o.s.

SATURDAY 9/13

Country starlet Miranda Lambert sings her hits at Summit Arena, 8:30 p.m., $45 (for the weekend). Local pop-rockers Big Boots perform at Downtown Music with Whale Fire, 6 p.m., $8. At Discovery, DJs Balance and Jiminy Kick-It spin in the disco, while the inimitable g-force holds it down in the lobby, midnight, $10. Local blues-rock act the Solomon Davis Band is at Cornerstone, 9 p.m., $5. Cover band Stark Naked and the Car Thieves headlines at Cajun's, 9 p.m., $5.
