THURSDAY

Kris Allen, Three Fantastic and Nik Parks play Juanita's tonight, 9 p.m., $6. At Vino's, meet your Fresh Blood (potentially high-school aged), Solstice, at 8 p.m., $6. Kevin Kerby plays White Water at 9 p.m., $5. To put a bit of high in your tone, truly outstanding, and fellowship'd to death poet Mark Doty will give a lecture on e.e. cummings at the Darragh Center of the Main Library at 6:30 p.m.

FRIDAY

PG-13 plays Cornerstone, 8:30 p.m. Big John Miller plays the Afterthought, 9 p.m., $7. Shawn Barker performs as “The Man In Black” with The Gettys at the Village, 8 p.m., $15. Moody instrumental rockers Unwed Sailor perform with the Ginsu Wives at Juanita's, 10 p.m., $7. Revolution hosts an “All Black Affair” with 220 and Tawanna Campbell, 9 p.m., $10. The Mountain Sprout Band plays sweet bluegrass songs of love at White Water, 9 p.m., $5, but I bet you're really in the mood for a spirited discussion of race in America. Do that, with professor and author Michael Eric Dyson, 7 p.m. at ASU's Riceland Hall.

SATURDAY

The Munks bring the whole crowd out to the Afterthought, 9 p.m., $7. Experimental rapper Jampire and former A&E cover boys Smoke Up Johnny play Downtown Music, vigorously, 9 p.m., $5. If you haven't got enough Halloween yet, why not see 1000 Points of Pain, Witches Tit, Fury from the Summit, and Placid Eclipse at Sound Stage in Conway, 8 p.m. Cory Branan plays the home-fried hits at White Water, 9 p.m., $5. Deas Vail, Lorien, Coin Laundry Loser and Owen Pye play Vino's, 8:30 p.m., $6. Also, there might be some kind of football game? I dunno, but I bet you could go watch it on a really big screen at Valentine's as long as you eat dinner, 7 p.m.

TUESDAY

The day that no one cares for, too late in the week to have the Mondays, to early for it to be hump day. What can you do? Well, you could see Coach and Delarosa at White Water, 10 p.m., $5. Or the Weisenheimers at Counterpoint, 10 p.m., free. There's even a showcase, Tha Rock Underground Urban, at Cornerstone, 9 p.m. And when you're done with that, you can listen to Naomi Shihab Nye at UCA share her difficult, intricate art, 7:30 p.m.
