  • THE MAIN EVENT: Leaping frogs.
Everyone, not just frogs, will be jumping for Conway’s Toad Suck Daze, now in its 24th year and scheduled for Friday through Sunday, April 29-May 1, in downtown Conway. The music highlights are country singing beauty Lorrie Morgan performing on Friday night and former Styx leader Dennis DeYoung (“Lady,” “Babe” etc.) performing with his new band on Saturday night, all at Simon Park. But along with music, Toad Suck Daze also features other family fun such as the “Toad Dome,” where the Toad Jump Races will be held Saturday and Sunday. There are pony and carnival rides, a petting zoo and more for the kids through Sunday. Food vendors and more will keep everyone satiated. Other music acts include Bucksnort (5 p.m.) and Joseph Vincelli (7 p.m.) leading up to Lorrie Morgan’s show at 9 p.m. Friday; Saturday the schedule starts with Anxiety (11:30 a.m.) and Big John Miller (3:30 p.m.). DeYoung and the Music of Styx begins at 9:30 p.m. Toad Suck’s 10K and 5K run-walk and Tadpole Run begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, with registration up until 7:30 a.m. at Conway High School. The Miss Toad Suck pageant is Saturday at 10 a.m. on the University of Central Arkansas campus, and is open to girls through age 18 (plus a contest for boys up to age 5). Activities officially start at 4 p.m. Friday and admission to all events is free, though some registration fees apply to a few activities.
