Youth Home marks its 40th year with its 15th annual Eggshibition, a fund-raiser that features plaster eggs designed and signed by noted artists and celebrities and sold in silent and live auctions. The party moved for the first time last year to the Clear Channel Metroplex, where it was a huge success, according to party-goers and organizers. It’s back at the Metroplex on Friday, April 7, beginning at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $45, and include full bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres and music by guitarist Steven Young. Tickets are available at door or by calling 821-5500.

This year’s celebrity egg designers from the politics, sports and entertainment worlds are Sen. Hillary Clinton, NASCAR drivers Rusty Wallace and Ryan Newman, former astronaut and senator John Glenn, boxer Jermain Taylor, golfer Nancy Lopez, political operative James Carville, actor and singer Lawrence Hamilton, professional football player Matt Jones, tennis doubles stars Bob and Mike Bryan, television producer Harry Thomason, and Food Network maven Rachel Ray.

In its four decades, Youth Home has provided help for troubled adolescents with comprehensive mental health services, and Eggshibition has raised more than $1 million over the past 14 years. Last year’s event raised more than $140,000.
