Capi's closes

Capi's closed its doors for good last Sunday. The Pleasant Ridge restaurant, owned by Trio's Capi Peck and Brent Peterson, opened in 2008 with a focus on tapas before shifting in late 2010 to a Nuevo Latino menu.

The good news is that owners Peck and Peterson will pull back into their Trio's restaurant with a promising addition — Sunday brunch and Sunday dinner with half-off wine prices. And they say they'll retain many Capi's dishes at Trio's.

Top-ranked female competitive eater Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas will try to eat an unhealthy amount of chicken wings at the Wing Ding Festival in Dupree Park in Jacksonville at 1 p.m. Oct. 1.

Thomas broke her own world record on Sept. 4 at the National Buffalo Wings Festival in Buffalo, N.Y., when she ate 183 chicken wings in 12 minutes.

In Jacksonville, she'll battle the Canadian wing-eating title holder, Aaron Osthoff, and Major League Eating's Rookie of the Year, Adrian Morgan, for a share of a $3,000 cash purse.

A new Honduran restaurant has opened in North Little Rock in Park Hill in the space formerly occupied by Paul's Restaurant. Rosalinda Restaurant Hondureno offers Central American and Mexican dishes like Pollo Con Frito Tajada (fried chicken with fried plantains) and pupusas (tortillas filled with some combination of meat, cheese or beans). The restaurant is open daily from 8:30 a.m. (there's a breakfast menu) until 10 p.m. The address is 3700 JFK Blvd., and the phone number is 771-5559.
