What James says: Of Ole Miss’ 22 starters, 15 players are new on campus this fall, and because of that they’ve been extremely inconsistent and have played like they don’t know each other or what they doing. But in their last three games, against Georgia, Vanderbilt and Alabama, they appear very improved. Still, they should be no match for Arkansas.
Keys to the game: For Ole Miss, they need a healthy BenJarvus Green-Ellis at tailback. He’s the key to their running game. Their downfall all season has been the failure of Brent Schaeffer to live up to the expectations at quarterback. He’s been erratic at best. Defensively, they might have two of the best linebackers in the SEC in Patrick Willis and Rory Johnson, but their defensive line is made up of freshmen, redshirts and transfers and they are not playing consistently. Their pass defense is poor. Look for them to sell out on the run and force Arkansas quarterback Mitch Mustain to beat them passing.
n What about the Arkansas’s QB play? It’s my opinion that Casey Dick is the better of the two quarterbacks right now and he is no longer injured. Mitch Mustain has to work on his mechanics. He’s throwing off his back foot, throwing into double coverage and making poor reads.
The pick: Arkansas, 35-14.
