New on Rock Candy
There are two new videos of Little Rocker James Scott Cook and Julian Lennon's new single, “Lucy” — a music video, shot in New York, and a live performance on CBS' “The Early Show” from Tuesday. Little Rock's Charles Wyrick plays guitar on “The Early Show” appearance, too.
A reminder that we're currently accepting entries for our Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase. It kicks off Thursday, Jan. 28, at Sticky Fingerz and continues at the club through the next three or four Thursdays. The finals then shift to Revolution on Friday, March 5.
As usual, the contest is open to any act in Arkansas that specializes in original material.
Each week, four acts square off before five judges (four regular judges and one weekly guest judge), and each week a winner moves onto the finals.
The entry deadline is Friday, Jan. 8. Online, via arktimes.com/showcase, is the easiest way to enter. All you have to do is fill out an online form and upload four mp3s. We've also got an entry form on page 32 that you can fill out and mail in with a CD.
