Online stores are for suckers. Local rapper and Arkansas Times Showcase Winner 607 is bringing technology back to the streets. Or the park. On May 20, from 4-8 p.m., he and DJ g-force will be holding court at Kanis Park with an external hard-drive, a laptop and a lot of cords. Six invites fans to bring blank CDs, jump drives, iPods — whatever. Songs from his catalog, stretching back 10 albums, will be available in digital form, 320 bitrate. $1 a pop. Eager fans can pick up “Nobody But Us,” the new album from 607 and Bobby (Mr. Morbid in “light and fun” mode, says 607) before it’s officially released before and after Six’s performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, on Riverfest’s Triple-S Alarm Stage. The album sells for $10.

The latest Oxford American — the first since the embezzlement drama — is on newsstands. Continuing a recent trend of releasing theme issues, this is the Home Issue. Paul Reyes, the former OA senior editor, newly installed as editor at large, contributes a piece on “life (and death by fire) of a historic home” here in Little Rock (1020 Rock St.). There’s a fund-raiser coming up for the mag in Little Rock. See oxfordamericanmag.com.
