Indie kids take note: Genre heartthrobs Conor Oberst and Jenny Lewis come to George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville on Sept. 23. Lewis, of course, is famous for “The Wizard” and “Troop Beverly Hills” and, to a lesser extent, as the front woman of Rilo Kiley. Tickets are $20 and are available at georgesmajesticlounge.com.

A reminder to Central Arkansans who might not be in touch with Northwest happenings: The Arkansas Music Pavilion hosts the Black Crowes on Aug. 14. Tickets are available at arkansasmusicpavilion.com.

Later, on Sept. 11-13, the Mulberry Mountain Harvest Music Festival features acts like Leftover Salmon, the Avett Brothers, the Wailers, Big Smith, Charliehorse and Shannon Wurst. Tickets are available at mulberrymountainmusic.com.

Down the road in Little Rock: Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson are coming to Alltel on Nov. 15 as part of their “2 Worlds 2 Voices” tour. Tickets go on sale Sept. 19.

As reported by the Arkansas Blog, Dickinson Theatres, which recently opened the Chenal 9 IMAX Theatres in West Little Rock, is taking over the Lakewood 8 in North Little Rock as of June 27. It promises lobby and restroom improvements and stadium seating in some of the theaters.

Following up on a previous A&E News item, Rural War Room Records has a title for the much-anticipated Elton and Betty White release. The first album for the sexually explicit, intergenerational duo — there's a plan for several releases — is called “Hard Deep Sex Explosion.” It will be available in the fall. The labels says that funds from the release go directly to Elton (Betty passed some years back). RWR Records also plans to release a number of forgotten local weirdos, including Tammy Loretta Judd (who sounds a lot like local actress Natalie Canerday), outsider Omo the Hobo, the psychedelic Christian act Rayburn, Jack Pardon, the “ever-elderly CC and the Fossiles” and “politically incorrect fare” from the UBAF.

Update your blog roll, local music geeks. A Conway pair have launched thediscoitch.com, an mp3 blog devoted to all the latest electro and dance jams, including the latest from maximalist dance-pop dude Totally Michael, who's originally from Cabot.
