    Edmond "Ed" Davis, a former professor at Arkansas Baptist College and the executive director of a school applying for a charter in Southwest Little Rock, will announce the formation of an exploratory committee for a campaign for the Little Rock city director Ward 7 position. Brenda "B.J." Wyrick has held the position since 1994.

EDMOND W. DAVIS, HISTORIAN Philadelphia born Edmond Davis is one of America's leading history scholars and social scientists of the 21st century. Davis advocates for quality education, cultural competence, social justice and has changed the conversational dynamics of civil responsibility for all Americans this millennium, in-particular African-Americans and Hispanic/Latino-Americans when it comes to Law Enforcement encounters with the 'RESPOND-I-BILITY' Program Series. Davis is currently a Professor of History at Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, Arkansas. Davis is a Scholar, Author and one of the most highly sought after public figures and speakers in Arkansas and the southern United States. He was the personal assistant and speech writer to Dr. Milton Pitts Crenchaw (1919-2015), the last living Documented Original Tuskegee Airmen Supervising Squadron Commander and Flight Instructor (CPTP). In addition to being published in multiple genres including; Women's History, History of Diseases, African-American History, Civil Rights & Social Activism, WWII History, and Aviation History Davis has spoken to thousands from first graders and college learners to Rotary Club members, business and military leaders and senior citizens. Davis has presented his messages and materials to many and even making appearances in various media outlets including Fox16 News, Good Morning Arkansas, KARK, THV-11 News, AETN, The Tom Joyner Morning Show, Power 92.3 JAMS, Victory Radio 100.9 FM, KABF FM Radio 88.3, Joy net Radio, LIBRADIO Network (Los Angeles, Ca.), KVDW 1530 AM, and KLEK-LP at Arkansas State University. Educationally, Professor Davis earned his BA in History at Grambling State University where he was part of the winning 1999 SCAASI National History Quiz Bowl team in New Orleans, Louisiana and Grambling's History Club President from 1998-2000. He then graduated honors with a Master’s Degree in History from Louisiana Technical University in 2003 just before his first teaching assignment where he lectured in U.S. History II and World History at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) in 2003. Students at Arkansas Baptist College, Pulaski Technical College, The University of Phoenix (LR) and Covenant Keepers Charter School have all been taught by Davis over the last 15 years. From 2016-2017, Davis was voted as the Vice-Chair of the Arkansas Baptist College (ABC) Faculty Senate Committee. Davis has been a part of several board of directors and is an Honorary Vice-Commander of the 314TH Airlift Wing at the LRAFB, the USAF’s ‘Home of the C-130J.’ Davis was the National Vice-Chairman of the History Committee for Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Incorporated from 2007-2013. In 2014, Davis founded 'Aviate Through Knowledge Incorporated' (ATK, Inc.), a 501 c 3 tax-exempt nonprofit educational entity. ATK is responsible for the 'Night of Prolific Leaders' Series that honors community investors nationally. It its first year, The Prolific Leader award's first recipient was National Evangelist Beverly Broadus Green, mother of rap legend and entertainer Snoop Dogg. Davis is the Executive Director of a proposed open-enrollment charter high school (9-10 grade) called 'Prolific Learners Arts Academy' (PLAA) in Little Rock, Arkansas. Professor Davis is also the founder of Aviate Through Knowledge Productions (ATK, LLC.) and co-founder of a socially responsible motorcycle club called the MYTHSLAYERS, Inc. Davis is the founder of the 'S.W.A.G. AWARDS' (Students With Academic Gains) where he celebrates both scholastic excellence and social skills. In 2017, Davis and his wife Monica opened ‘Uni-Tee Graphics and Designs’ a small business where they focus on couples’ tees and designs. The Davis have one son and are faithful Christians. Davis' work is featured on multiple website from Wikipedia to Blackpast.org to the Arkansas Encyclopedia of History and Culture to various journal entries. Davis is the author of PIONEERING AFRICAN-AMERICAN AVIATORS FEATURING THE TUSKEGEE AIRMEN OF ARKANSAS (2012), co-editor of THE WHITE GOLDEN BULL by Chet Grimsley (2009), and author of 21st Century African-American History Makers: A Millennial Look 2000-Present' slated to be released in late 2018.
