Philip Martin writes from the Nashville Film Festival where Arkansan Ray McKinnon's film "Randy and the Mob" won the audience award. PM's off to the Tribeca Film Festival this weekend, so hopefully we'll hear about some of the good features.
PM also gives a thumbs up to the line-up of Little Rock Film Festival. "Whether you can get anyone to see them may be another matter, though for those of us who merely want to see movies, the news is getting better all the time. The lineup for the initial Little Rock film festival is astounding (The Accountant is on the schedule along with several other films with local connections, and the other films run the gamut from Wong Kar-wai’s My Blueberry Nights to Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up), and the advent of DVD subscription services like Netflix and Film Movement mean that for the dedicated moviegoer almost every movie is seeable."
