Notes on a Scandal was extremely good. Both Blanchett and Dench did a wonderful job. But what struck me most here was the music. Almost Hitchcockian use of music. The music, the plot, the acting, everything kept me totally enthralled, engaged, absorbed for the entire movie. I came in and out of Perfume. It could maybe have been cut a bit. It is a weaker movie compared with Notes but I think certainly worth seeing.

I have not seen “Perfurme,” but I’ll agree with you about “Notes on Scandal.”  It was one of the year’s best.  I was disappointed that the Writers Guild did not nominate it as one of the five best adapted screenplays of the year.
