From LA Times
Oscar voters get more DVD screeners

Academy members received two more DVD screeners in the mail this week: “The Last King of Scotland” and “Thank You for Smoking.” A pal of mine who belongs to the academy also received “Inside Man,” but I’m not sure if it was due to his academy membership or as a result of him belonging to more than several other award groups like the Writers Guild of America and the Directors Guild of America, etc. (He’s received two copies of “United 93” so far. That’s all? Hey, Tony A., you’re slippin’!) Still checking on that now . . . .

Ah, just heard from another academy member who doesn’t belong to WGA or DGA — she did receive “Inside Man,” too. All of these DVD screeners have been sent to the acad’s general membership. Additional ones may have been sent just to specific branches, too, like only the actors.
