This seems to be the year for some of the biggest lawyers in the country to be facing jail time. As reported by the New York Times, now it is Dickie Scruggs – who has won cases worth billions in damages. He plead guilty to attempting to bribe a judge for $50,000 to get a favorable ruling and received a 5 year sentence. He also happens to be Trent Lott’s brother-in-law. Scrugg’s son also plead guilty and it looks like he will be serving his time in an Arkansas federal prison.
