Arkansas Gunsapalooza

Oh, no, no, no. If the Folks With Bad haircuts in the Arkansas state legislature want to allow gun totin’ patriots to run hog wild on our streets, then they simply can’t allow any exemptions at all for college stadiums, or any medical facility.

Nope, none at all.

The very fact that they want these exemptions in the first place reveals an ugly truth that they have conveniently ignored in their rush to do the bidding of the National Rifle Association, which in turn does the bidding of gun manufacturers.

In the 21st Century, we are a nation riven through with rage, paranoia and resentment. And for every story we may read where someone defends their home or loved ones with a weapon, we read a score where folks pull guns in the middle of a stupid argument, and use bullets as an exclamation point.

So if the state legislature and the governor, in their collective wisdom, think it is perfectly fine to allow weapons where they have not been allowed before, well, allow them everywhere.

And the folks who voted on this law can take turns going to funerals, and preach freedom and liberty to the grieving relatives.

I’m sure they’ll be a big hit.
