WKRP in Fayetteville: Remembering the wisdom of Doctor Johnny Fever

Looking cynically over my trash can and recycling bin sitting forlornly by the side of the street, waiting in vain for the day when they might be emptied, and again as I considered the trash that still hasn’t made its way outside yet, I thought of the classic (as indeed so many of them were) episode of WKRP in Cincinnati, when Doctor Johnny Fever urged his radio listeners to just take their trash and dump it on the steps of City Hall.

Johnny was aghast when folks actually began to do just that, and being a responsible blogger (though I’m really not sure that “responsible” and “blogger” are allowed by law to be in the same sentence, let alone the same paragraph) I would never urge folks to do the same.

And yet, there are some pretty upset folks in my neighborhood . . .
