Long-time C.A.T. critic visits with new head honcho of Government Channel

I’m sure that after all these years, Joey Dutton must feel a sense of frustration whenever the long-time critic of Community Access Television is mention is mentioned in dispatches. After all, by now some elements of the public no doubt see him as a sort of Snidely Whiplash, twirling his mustache and waiting his next opportunity to . . . well, whatever he’s going to do next.

For Dutton, the former Fayetteville resident (and former FGC/C.A.T. employee), it is simply a matter of telling the world of the “cult-like” atmosphere that runs C.A.T., and how dangerous it is to Freedom of Speech in Fayetteville.

Periodically Dutton will re-emerge and attempt to warn newcomers on the scene of the dangers that C.A.T. (Especially the board) pose. He is quite adamant on the subject, and can write long letters and talk at great length, if the need be.

In the past, Dutton has written many letters to elected officials, newspapers, and state agencies about the organization. Several years ago he was trying to interest the city in his redesign of the PEG system.

So his impromptu visit to new Government Channel head honcho Fritz Gisler should come as no surprise to anyone at all, really, when you think about it. Dutton gave Gisler his contact information, and told him he was available for “consultation,” should the need arise.

He also warned Gisler that at some point, C.A.T. may turn its malevolent eye towards him, as it does (according to Dutton) on all who dare question or criticize the organization.

Poisoning the well?

This could be even bigger than 2012!

This was sent to me the other day. While amusing, it made me think:

Why aren’t there any of those “The Sky is Falling!” documentaries on the History Channel about this?

Just in case you have nothing else to think about...

At five minutes and six seconds after 4 on the 8th of July, the time and date will be: 04:05:06 07/08/09.

This will never happen again in our lifetimes - unless you live for oh, I don’t know, another 1,000 years?
