The Snubbing of Jules Verne

It was  science fiction that saved me - and countless others - from despair growing up. One of the first SF writers I discovered was Jules Verne, whose stories captivate readers to this very day.

Verne’s birthday (1928) is today, and though I have Googled and Googled - a Herculean task even for the physically fit among us - I have discovered no special holiday set aside for him anywhere on the planet.

In February alone we have International Tooth Fairy Day and International Pancake Day, but nothing devoted to Jules Verne?

Oh, the humanity!

Quote of the Day

The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with. - Marty Feldman

Well, there is one holiday we should all celebrate this month . . .

Library Lovers Month - does everyone in your family have a library card?
