Young Master Petty was conspicuous by his absence in today’s issue of the Northwest Arkansas Times, in the story entitled “Aldermen express divergent outlooks with Jordan at helm.” A lot of people are, quite frankly, interested in what the new alderman has to say on his relationship with the new mayor, a man he bashed considerably during the election season.
To say that Petty hitched his wagon to Dan Coody’s star would be an understatement; he damn near welded it in place. He has to find some graceful between now and January of putting all of that behind him.
Though he may not have been available to the reporter - I really have no idea why he wasn’t interviewed for the article - the reporter could have simply gone to his website and downloaded some of his more colorful comments, and simply put them into the article.
Or was Adella Gray channeling for Matthew Petty?
There was certainly a nasty enough tone to her comments in the article.

Heather Drain: Incredibly Strange Films
This week I sit down with local film reviewer Heather Drain to discuss the book, “RE/Search No. 10: Incredibly Strange Films,” which is a book is a book about American underground films edited by V. Vale, Andrea Juno, Jim Morton and Boyd Rice.
We discuss the the work of film makers such as Herschell Gordon Lewis, Frank Henenlotter, Larry Cohen, Doris David F. Friedman, Edward D. Wood, Jr., (“Plan Nine from Outer Space”) Radley Metzger,, who explored genres such as mondo films, genres women in prison film, exploitation films, beach party films, Santo films and sexploitation films.
It’s easy to sit back to be a snob and dismiss this stuff out of hand, but you may have a somewhat different view of it after watching the show.
