No reservations required; no corking fee. One of Little Rock’s chief movers and shakers is calling in the reserves for a blues show at the White Water Tavern tonight.
Boxwine is Jason Weinheimer (of Fellowship Hall Sound, The Libras, Boondogs) joins pianist Chuck Dodson and Joe McMahan (a stellar guitarist and producer who founded Luella and the Sun, and has played for Kevin Gordon, Isaac Alexander, Patrick Sweany, Shelby Lynne and Allison Moorer, Lee Ann Womack and k.d. lang).
They’re joined by Buddy Flett, a Shreveport slide guitarist who founded Louisiana R&B machine A-Train in 1979, and now collaborates with Kenny Wayne Shepherd on the regular. Here’s a bit of Buddy’s sound from a promotional video for the American Cajun, Blues & Zydeco Festival.
