The Film Society of Little Rock announced this week that Argenta Community Theater and Pulaski Technical College will be home to the second annual Kaleidoscope Film Festival, a festival celebrating LGBTQ films and filmmakers, to be held August 18-21. The inaugural festival awarded Best Narrative Feature to Stephen Cone for his film, “Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party,” a 2015 film festival darling about the closeted son of a preacher, and the contrast between the internal and external dialogues taking place between the guests at his backyard pool party.
Festival Director Tony Taylor hopes to expand the festival in upcoming years, which aims to highlight “poignant and thought-provoking films documenting LGBT lives truthfully and with respect.” Film selection is in progress, and selections will be announced as they are chosen at kaleidoscopefilmfestival.com.
