Norwood Creech, at Drawl.
, the newish gallery opened by artist Guy Bell
, is hosting an opening reception from 6-8 p.m. tonight for the opening of "The Flatlander: Depictions of the Delta," work by Lepanto artist Norwood Creech
. Bell describes Creech as an "agricultural artist" for her wide horizon paintings and drawings of Delta farmland.
Creech's painting "Duck Blind," which Bell said was two years in the making, will be unveiled at the reception. As Creech says on Drawl's Facebook page
, "Duck Blind" is a large piece I started a few years ago. We unearthed it while culling for the DRAWL show. And now, it's back up on the work wall. This proves to those doubters, that it's not dead, yet. ... "
Drawl is at 5208 Kavanaugh Blvd., on the second floor above Yancey's. Barbecue sliders are promised for the evening.
