The Fort Smith Regional Art Museum
hosts a reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. tonight (Nov. 12) for the opening of "The Artist Revealed: Artist Portraits and Self-Portraits." The show, from Syracuse University, features portraits of and by an amazing lineup of heavy-hitting American artists — Berenice Abbot, Ansel Adams, Milton Avery, Leonard Baskin, Winslow Homer, Alex Katz, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Edward Steichen, Norman Rockwell
and Chuck Close — as well as legendary masters Paul Cezanne, Edouard Manet
and Berthe Morisot
and famed Swedish artist Anders Zorn
Also at the museum: “Patrick Angus: Paintings and Works on Paper,”
work by the artist known as the “The Toulouse-Lautrec of Times Square.”
The Angus show runs through Dec. 6; the portrait show comes down Dec. 20.
