I got an email from Amy Bell this morning with some exciting news: South on Main Chef Matthew Bell and crew have been invited to cook at the James Beard Foundation House this summer, August 17, in New York

It’s kind of a big deal.

To do these dinners, first you must be invited, and then you must bring staff for both front and back of the house. That doesn’t come cheap. So to raise money, the SoM team will be hosting a Family Meal fundraiser. This is a chance to join the staff and dine family-style, as the South on Main crew does every week. Dinner will include smoked pork, chicken, salmon and cauliflower along with an assortment of salads and slaws, roasted vegetables and deviled eggs. They will also have mustard, white, and red BBQ sauces and pickles, chow chow, and plenty of white bread along with beer and wine.

Tickets are $100. They not only include the Family Meal event on June 28, but also entrance to our Watch Party on August 17. At the Watch Party we will serve an assortment of appetizers, beer and wine and will have a live-stream of the kitchen at the Beard House dinner in New York. Tickets available here.
