OK, y’all—let’s do this. It’s crawfish time, and it’s all for a great cause. The Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas will hold a crawfish and shrimp boil on Thursday, May 7 at the Argenta Plaza at 520 Main Street in North Little Rock. 

Hot bugs, cold beer, old buildings:  it’s a tagline that works well for me. There’s also going to be shrimp, sausage and something they are calling “fixins” which could just mean any old thing (but probably means corn and such). Not a beer drinker? NORTH LITTLE ROCK – The Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas will hold a crawfish and shrimp boil on Thursday, May 7 at the Argenta Plaza at 520 Main Street in North Little Rock. Preservation Crustaceans is an annual event held by the Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas to support the work of the organization and to raise awareness for places of historic and cultural significance throughout the state. Preservation Crustaceans begins at 6:00 pm and ends at 8:00 pm with a V.I.P. Party from 5:00-6:00 pm.

Preservation Crustaceans has grown from a small, back-yard gathering to an Arkansas Heritage Month tradition. The Alliance is proud to return to North Little Rock’s Argenta neighborhood, the early home of Preservation Crustaceans.

Regular tickets include all-you-can-eat crawfish, shrimp, sausage and all the fixins. Beer and kid-friendly beverages are included. Regular tickets are $45 with a $5 early bird discount before May 1. Kids 9-17 are $10 and kids 8 and under are free. The North Little Rock History Commission will be open to public after the V.I.P. reception.

Tickets to the party with the V.I.Ps (Very Important Preservationists) from
5:00 – 6:00 include a tour of the North Little Rock History Commission, as well as gourmet snacks and beer from Diamond Bear Brewing Company, hurricanes, wine, and sweet treats from Loblolly Creamery plus reserved seating and early access to the serving line. VIP Tickets are $70 with a $10 early bird discount before May 1.
