Barbara Satterfield sends this message with the news of her installation “And then, I: Monuments to Pivotal Moments” at the Heber Springs Community Center and the Cleburne County library:

Why I loved this tour today:
Fred, the retired ceramic engineer from Minnesota, (and his diminutive wife) fresh from a Silver Sneakers session, who wanted to discuss firing ranges and the size of my kiln + the young woman who paused to look at Group 1 and started crying + when a gentleman said, “And who says you have to go to Crystal Bridges to see art?” + that the desk attendant at the center said “Yay! You asked ME!” when I suggested we take a selfie + the pulled-pork and bean bowl at the Real Deal Barbecue on Main Street + library staff women who kept peeking at the installation until I pulled them around the corner (“We didn’t want to bother you, but we want to see which ones we got…”) + sharing the gallery space with the Heber Springs “Shutterbugs” photography exhibit + showing maintenance men that the swivel wheels really were locked and the sculptures were actually bolted down + and, seeing the tour listed on the Springfest website (http://www.heber-springs.com/springfest).
