According to paperwork filed with the Department of Health, Texas-based fast casual chain Zoës Kitchen
is coming to the Park Plaza Mall
. The restaurant would be a nice addition to the mall's food selection, adding a fresh selection of salads, pitas, and other Mediterranean-inspired dishes. This also continues an ongoing trend in Midtown: Fast casual chains are a way of life in this part of town, with Chipotle, Panera Bread, Potbelly, and the always-full Cheddar's being just some of the national chains that have sprung up around new development.
I spoke with Park Plaza management today, and they told me that they couldn't confirm the opening at this time, but that they'd be happy to let me know about the opening when some lease details were cleared up. I'll take that, along with the Health Department paperwork, as a good sign that I may have an option other than David's Burgers (up to now the only good mall restaurant) to eat in the mall.
More info as I get it.
