Painting by John Wooldridge, at Cantrell Gallery.
... and the list goes on, for the group exhibit that opens Friday, Jan. 9. Cantrell Gallery will serve birthday cake and sparkling wine at the opening reception, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., to mark the anniversary.
Cantrell Gallery was opened in 1970 by Helen and Norman Scott, parents of current co-owner Cindy Scott-Huisman, in a storefront on Seventh Street. Old-timers like me will remember, as Scott-Huisman points out, that the street was "furniture row," with businesses like Steinkamp and Strawn. The gallery moved to its current location in 1976.
