International artist Patrick Dougherty, the Stickworks sculptor, who weaves enormous sculptures out of vines and sticks and who created a sculpture in Fayetteville for the Walton Arts Center’s Artosphere in 2012, will create and install a sculpture on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas in the fall.

Dougherty will install the work in front of the Baum Gallery over the course of three weeks, from Sept. 1-24. He’ll give a lecture at 1:40 p.m. Sept. 18 in the gallery. In Fayetteville, Dougherty called on 100 volunteers from the community to create the sculpture and will likely do the same at UCA.
