There will be a double-shot of horror
tonight at the new Ron Robinson Arcade Theater in the River Market, with the Arkansas-made short "One Please,"
followed by the body-horror feature "Contracted"
by Arkansas-born filmmaker Eric England. The show starts at 7 p.m. Both screenings are free, part of the opening week of Arkansas-connected films being shown to help celebrate the opening of the theater.
a six-minute film by director Jesse Burks and starring "The Hills Have Eyes" boogeyman Michael Berryman, premiered last week at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where it built some buzz with critics.
A host of local filmmakers worked on the piece, including cinematographer Gabe Mayhan, production designer Mitchell Crisp, make-up artist Les Galusha, and others.
The short will be followed by "Contracted,"
director Eric England's feature-length film about a young woman who contracts a killer venereal disease
after a one-night stand. Might not want to bring gummy worms as a snack. Check out the trailer for "Contracted" above if you dare.
