The Center of Artistic Revolution,
a Little Rock non-profit that helps LGBT folks all over the state in various ways, will be hosting their 4th annual "Big Gay Variety Show"
fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets are on a sliding scale, based on income, from $8 -$15.
All proceeds from the show will go toward the purchase of badly-needed computers
for the Lucille Marie Hamilton Youth Center
at the Center for Artistic Revolution, which is currently the only drop-in center for LGBTQ youth in the state. The Hamilton Youth Center serves as home base for CAR's Diverse Youth for Social Change — or DYSC — program, which provides support, mentorship, life skills, advocacy and organizing skills for LGBT youth and LGBT allies, ages 13-22.
According to a flyer distributed by CAR, the night's bill will include "gender illusionists, " musical acts, poets, solo singers and more. There will be beer, wine and concession items available for a donation.
The Unitarian Universalist Church is located at 1818 Reservoir Rd. in Little Rock. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org, call (501)244-9690, or hit the CAR website at artisticrevolution.org.
