Susan Johnson-Mumford, the London art consultant who organized the
"Crossing Borders" inaugural art exhibit at the
Oxford American earlier in the year, is giving a talk at her alma mater,
Hendrix College, tonight on the art business (or as she called it in an email, "breaking in to the big bad art world." The talk is free and in the lecture hall of the Hendrix Art Building, on Front Street, from 5-6 p.m.
Johnson-Mumford, who moved to England for an internship in 2000 and stayed, at one point running a gallery in Soho, created the Be Smart About Art program last year to help artists develop their careers with seminars, talks and "3-day bootcamps and more. The program's motto is "Art is Your Life. Make it your Living."
