This 1954 sumi ink drawing by Morris Graves is the "50 Works 50 Weeks 50 Years" selection from the Arkansas Arts Center's permanent collection on exhibit this week in the Arts Center Atrium.

Graves, an expressionist and mystic who in mid-career was influenced by Japanese paintings, was a founder of the Northwest School that included Mark Tobey and others.

BeckyJo Stacey, who works in visitor services, selected the elegant work, which was purchased in 1971 with Tabriz and NEA funds.
