Alli Wilson of Morrilton High School won the first place, $4,000 Thea Foundation Visual Arts Scholarship, the foundation announced this week. She was won of 10 high school seniors to win Thea scholarships; a total of $25,000 was awarded. Ten high school juniors won awards of $100 each. Five seniors and five juniors also won honorable mentions; see the full list here.

Competing for the scholarships were 245 seniors and 75 juniors from more than 60 Arkansas schools. Artworks were based on the theme, “Soldiers in Uniform,” taken from a journal entry by the later Thea Kay Leopoulos, for whom the foundation is named.

Sarah Rudd of Batesville High won second place and $3,500.
