Wakarusa tickets on sale now, plus here's a nifty promo video

Tickets are now on sale for the 10th annual Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival, May 30-June 2 up on gorgeous Mulberry Mountain outside of Ozark.

While the lineup announcement is probably still a ways off, you can get your tickets cheaper if you buy them early. And besides, while I'm sure a lot of people are really concerned about which bands are gonna play there next year, it's really all about the experience at Wakarusa.

After all, you know that no matter what, there will be lots and lots and lots of jam bands, electronic dance music, bluegrass and folk, with a bit of hip-hop, indie rock, blues and probably a circus-freak type marching band or two. Basically everything except punk and metal will be represented, so if you dig that stuff, you probably won't be disappointed.

After the jump, check out a really slick promo video that'll make you wish that it was Wakarusa time already. It kind of embodies the entire Waka experience, starting out all chirping birds and bucolic, verdant Ozarks splendor, then everybody heads to the swimming hole and starts in on the early stages of partying and hula-hooping and whatnot and then the sun goes down and the glowsticks and lights and crazy costumes come out and then all of a sudden the dubstep hits all sounding like Transformers fighting all like "B-B-B-B-B-B-BBBBBB WAAAAAAAHNNNNWAAAAAAHNNNN WAM-WAM-WAM-WAM-WAM-WAM-WAMWAMWAM" and so forth and everybody's dancing up and down like a wave and then you're like, "Whoa man, it's like, a billion o'clock, I gotta find somewhere to pass out" and then you do and then you wake up and it's all chirping birds and peaceful morning and smiling hippie goddesses and it's time to start all over again.

Or anyway, that was my impression. I'd love to hear other impressions of Wakarusa from people who've been. Also, who would you like to see play there next year?
