Fayetteville Underground, the gallery that lost its lease in One East Center last year, has a new space, now above ground and still on the square, at 101 W. Mountain St. The gallery celebrates its grand opening at tonight’s First Thursday event, with wire sculptures by Joel Armstrong, the gallery’s first visiting artist. First Thursday is 5 to 8 p.m.

The new Fayetteville Underground has four galleries, 10 artists studios (visitors are welcome) and 23 artists, all of whom should be on hand tonight. The space once housed a Woolworth’s department store and the Washington Hotel.
